We have saved some of the highlights to the last
day. ProfessorUlfGyllensten,Director of theNatio-
nalGenomics Infrastructure,Uppsala, and an inter-
national expert in the fieldofmoleculargenomicswill
give us his view of hownewDNA-based technology
will change the medical profession. Professor Per
Venge,Uppsala,willhost a seminaron inflammation
and the interestingprospectof tissue-specific inflam-
mationmarkers. If you think thatyouunderstand the
basis of cancer development, think again. Professor
Ingemar Ernberg, Stockholm, will discuss howmat-
hematical strangeattractorsnowofferanexplanation
of how cancers can be so stable anduntreatable.We
will also learn about novel biomarkers that allow for
the diagnosis and treatment control of ovarian and
lung cancer.
Asusual, theprogramwill include seminars related
to theAstrup and EldjarnPrizes. Posters will be on
display close to the seminar rooms in the congress
hall throughout the meeting. The best poster will
be highlighted in abstract presentations and guided
poster walks. To further inspire the submission of
posters, theScientificCommitteewill awardgenerous
poster prizes in categories publishedon the abstract

Themeetingwill also featurecompany-sponsored
lunch seminarsandbreakfast seminars.Anewsletter,
covering themeetinghighlights and interviewswith
participants and speakers, will be publisheddaily in
