Rekommendationer för utbildning av kliniska
kemister inom EU.

Det är säkert inte någon i de nordiska länderna
som har undgått att höra talas om införandet av
EMU även om det bara
är
Finland av de nordiska
länderna som bytt ut sina mark mot Euro. Det här
är bara en del av närmandet mellan de olika
länderna i Europa. EMU diskussionen gör att vi
drar paralleller med samarbetet inom labora–
torieverksamheten.

ven här går vi mot en sam–
ordning även om vi främst ser det från en nordisk
horisont. NFKK, KKN och gemensamma
nordiska referensintervall är några exempel på
detta samarbete.

ven om det finns skillnader i arbetet på
laboratorier i olika länder så finns det fler likheter.
Vi har också flera kollegor som arbetat i andra
nordiska länder. Vi kommer sannolikt på sikt att
gå mot mer likartade utbildningar inom Europa.
Inom EU har man sedan ett par år tagit fram
rekommendationer för utbildning av kliniska
kemister (Chemical Biopathology). Det
är
ett
mycket gediget dokument som har tagits fram i
UEMS regi. Så här i EMU tider tycker vi att det
kan vara intressant att presentera dokumentet för
läsarna av KKN. Det är många punkter som ingår
och man lyfter till exempel fram "Laboratory
Management and Communication Skills" . Det
.kan vara intressant för er att jämföra detta
dokument med innehållet i era egna utbildningar.

DEFINITION
The Speciaity of Chemical Biopathology is the
medical discipline that employs Biochemical
knowledge and measurements to diagnose
diseases and monitor the effects of treatment

through the chemical investigation of body fluids ,
tissues, cells and excretions from the body and
through organ function tests. Chemical Biopat–
hology has its skills in the interface between
clinical knowledge and understanding of pat–
hogenic mechanisms, biochemistry, analytical
chemistry, molecular biology and information
technology.

CENTRAL MONITORING AUTHORITY
for CHEMICAL BIOPATHOLOGY at EU
LEVEL
1.1 The Chemical Biopathology Commission of
the Specialist Section of Medical Biopat–
hology is the monitoring authority for Chemi–
cal Biopathology. The European Board of the
Specialist Section acts on its behalf for the
operation of its policies.
1.2 The Chemical Biopathology Commission of
the Specialist Section of Medical Biopat–
hology accepts national standards for each
country in the European Community (EU),
and for institutions and teachers recognised
for training in the specialty. The European
Board of Medical Biopathology will review
national standards over the next few years
working with recognised national bodies
towards harmonisation within the EU.
1.3 The Chernical Biopathology Commissionwill
work towards a European system of formative
and summative assessment of training in
Chemical Biopathology which it will recom–
mend as part of a quality assurance system for
the teaching and training. This is Iikely to
cover questionnaires for the trainers and an
assessment of the effectiveness of the inter–
views and examinations to which they are
subjected~
1.4 On behalf of the Specialist Section its
European Board will convene meetings in
