PRIZE
ASTRUP
The
The board of the Poul Astrup Foundation, in cooperation with the Danish
Society for Clinical Biochemistry, arranges a prize competition to reward
contemporary Nordic research work related to the field of clinical chemistry. The
competition has taken place every second year in connection with the Nordic
Congress in Clinical Chemistry, with the competition 2008 being the last one.
Scientists (below the age of 45 years) working in Scandinavia and who has not
previously received the Astrup Prize are requested to submit anonymously an
abstract of a recent scientific work with a maximum length of 1,000 words (incl.
references) and not more than two illustrations. The work must not have been
published before in its present form. Abstracts and a letter stating the name of
the author(s), which must be received by January 15, 2008 at the latest, should
be addressed to:
Mrs. Corina Seeger, Chief Scientific Advisor
Radiometer Medical A/S
Åkandevej 21
DK-2700 Brønshøj
Denmark
In February 2008 a Nordic prize committee will select up to three of the submit-
ted contributions, to be presented by the authors at the XXXI Nordic Congress
in Clinical Chemistry, Helsinki, June 14-18, 2008. The speakers will be reim-
bursed for all expenses related to congress participation, travelling (within Scan-
dinavia), and accommodation. The individual presentation should not exceed
twenty minutes and will be followed by a free discussion.
The presentations are to be published in The Scandinavian Journal of Clinical
and Laboratory Investigation, and for this purpose a manuscript prepared
according to the rules of the Journal must be ready for submission by June 14,
2008.
Based on the scientific value of the paper, and the quality of its oral presenta-
tion, the prize committee will award a first prize of DKK 60,000.00, a second
prize of DKK 30,000.00, and a third prize of DKK 10,000.00.
