We are delighted to welcome you all to the 37th Nordic
Congress in Medical Biochemistry in Trondheim in 2020.
The city was founded by the Viking King Olav Tryggvason
more than a thousand years ago, and Trondheim was
Norway's first capital. There are several historical attrac-
tions within the city center which are well worth seeing.
Trondheim is an excellent place to start if you want go for a
trip to see other parts of Norway.
Trondheim is situated by the seaside in one of the
longest fjords in Norway, at the banks of the river
Nidelva. The city is the third largest in Norway, with
approximately 200 000 inhabitants.
"Trondheim",
means
"home of the strong and fertile ones"
- and it is.
The cathedral in Trondheim, Nidarosdomen, is one of the
largest medieval cathedrals in the Nordic countries, dating
back to the year 1070.
