General Conference is another occasion, where
National Societies can meet IFCC officials. It is not
a scientific conference (although it discusses many
scientific issues) but rather a meeting of all partici-
pants with IFCC Divisions, Committees and Working
Groups. Its aim is to facilitate the work of the IFCC.
General Conference is organized during the second
year of every three-year cycle of the IFCC. The next
General Conference will be in Antalya, Turkey, in
March 2008. The purpose of the General Conference
is to present to all the participants the achievements
of the past triennium and the programs for the futu-
re, as well as to discuss with the National Societies.
Congress and Conference Division will organize
the General Conference and the preparations for
the program of the next General Conference are
on the way. CCD will inform National Societies of
the General Conference well in advance before the
meeting.
I want to encourage you all to visit the IFCC
website www.ifcc.org, where you can find all
the information concerning the activities of the
Federation. You can find information of the
Divisions, Committees and Working Groups, sum-
maries of the minutes of meetings, information on
the forthcoming events etc in the website. The new
website is user friendly and easier to use.
I am pleased to inform you that IFCC has a new
Full member. The Association of Clinical Laboratory
Directors and Biomedical and Clinical Laboratory
Scientists in Nicosia - Cyprus (ACLDBCLS) has been
unanimously approved as a full member of the IFCC
in a formal voting. IFCC has now 75 Full Members
in its membership.
It is Monday morning and I am sitting in my offi-
ce, finishing this column. I am looking through my
window and the world still looks magically white!
