an ice lane - only wearing bath suits and nothing else

Thursday, Man Down
As the previous day we started in plenum with a small
lecture - how to write the discussion and introduction
sections, before continuing writing in the groups. The
sound of dogs barking a few hours later made it quite
easy to keep up the positive thoughts for writing the
discussion section.
It was quite a challenge to begin writing a new sec-
tion when the prior wasn’t completed yet. Some of the
groups dealt with this by splitting into minor groups
– with one group completing the former sections and
the other group moving on with the new parts.
Before lunch it was time for dog sledge: The second
major experience in Finse. The dogs arrived not by
train but by three hours running in the snow.
Instructions for riding the dog sledge were as fol-
lowed:
1. When you press the pedal you stop the sledge
2. Try not to fall off
3. Keep distance to the sledge ahead
4. If you don’t remember this, just do what the
leader do!
All right - a little overwhelming since some of us
thought that riding dog sledge just meant sitting in
the sledge and enjoying the beautiful nature. It was,
however, a lot of fun trying this extraordinary kind
of transportation in such an overwhelming nature.
Not mentioning any names, driverless high speed
dog sledge running past the other dog sledges means
… man down!
The day continued with trying to complete the
manuscript and a small lecture in the process of sub-
mitting a manuscript. Before dinner group leaders met
with Tor-Arne to discuss how the group leaders should
coordinate getting the manuscript finished hopefully
for submission and in the end as a publication.
