Klinisk Biokemi i Norden
(Fortsat fra side 17)
Social activity:
Structured:
To clear the minds structured social activities were
placed during the main working days. Day 2 the par-
ticipants visited the Finse Art Gallery (located at the
Finse railway station) and “Rallarmuseet” (located at
the Finse railway station). Day 3 all participants went
on dog sledge tour.
Not structured:
Finse is a fine place for cross country skiing and the
participants were allowed to ski instead of joining
the structured social activities. In the evening efforts
were made to create a relaxed atmosphere to support
networking and exchange of cultural experiences. For
this purpose Finse Hotel had plenty of coffee, a bar
and a piano. The SJCLI Editorial Board provided
songbooks

Results and Discussion:
Two of the five groups succeeded in presenting a full
manuscript at the plenary discussion on the last day.
Although not finished every group had a plan for how
to finish the manuscript and were given a deadline
of February 22. The editorial board of SJCLI judged
the work to be of such high quality based on the oral
presentations at the plenary discussions, that they
were not able to choose a single winner group. They
decided to combine the five contributions into one
article and publish (if it could be accepted) with 18
authors (even though this was in some ways in con-
flict with the teaching about authorship).
In general the groups had worked fine, but had
chosen different strategies. The groups which had
the most complete manuscripts had divided the
paragraphs amongst them, i.e. one writing Material
and Method and so on. When creating the groups
there had only been selection towards nationality, and
some efforts could have been made in order to make
the groups more heterogeneous regarding to experi-
ence. Because of the drop out some groups became
small and more vulnerable to lack of experience. The
mentor did in part compensate for that, and most
groups were satisfied and had great benefit of their
mentor. Almost everyone agreed that there was not
enough time for group work and writing and spent
some of the social time working in the group. This
was not considered a problem, since group work itself
is a social act.
The plenary discussions were very inspiring. Every
group had an oral presentation about the work and
