Ett tillägg angående det nordiska deltagandet
i EFCC.
Vid sammanslagningen av FESCC och EC4, för
att bilda den nya europeiska organisationen för
klinisk kemi och laboratoriemedicin, EFCC deltog
vid röstningen följande personer från de nordiska
länderna:
Sverige:
Ingvar Rydén och Hans Wallinder. Ingvar
som ordförande för Svensk Förening för Klinisk
Kemi. Hans som ordförande för Svenska sjukhuske-
mistförbundet och svensk representant i EC4.
In the presence of Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the
Netherlands, Euromedlab 2007 in Amsterdam was
again a successful and prestigious manifestation of
our profession in Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory
Medicine. We had an outstanding meeting, rich
in scientific data and especially successful for the
social programme. In addition, there were seve-
ral General Assembly meetings and meetings for
Executive Boards and also for Editorial Boards.
We heard much that offers great promise for
the future. The exciting Euromedlab 2007 meeting
presents us all with challenges and opportunities to
demonstrate the major and growing importance of
our profession in the service of patients.
We must express our sincere gratitude to the
Dutch Society of Clinical Chemistry, the local
organizing committee, the international scientific
committee, the session chairmen, the companies for
their important support and especially the profes-
sional organizers of Euromedlab 2007, Emmezeta
Congressi. We also congratulate and thank the
National Societies for their active participation
in the scientific programme – this involvement is
the cornerstone of our profession and essential in
stimulating the basic research of our young collea-
gues. We hope we can maintain these standards of
scientific excellence for the future.
The joint General Assembly in Amsterdam voted
unanimously for EFCC, the new European Federation
of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, by
merging FESCC and EC4. A new board was elected
and installed. We wish and we hope that we are
able to form a strong group speaking with one voice
on European matters. The first priority of EFCC is
to have a stronger cooperation with the National
Societies and with their members and also with the
diagnostic industry to serve and defend our profes-
