Markers to cover the full
spectrum of acute cardiac care in the
emergency and cardiac care units
The Stratus® CS Acute Care™ Diagnostic System provides quantitative cardiac assays for fast,
cost-effective evaluation of patients presenting with suspected myocardial ischemia. Its
efficiency and ease of use make it ideal for both point-of-care testing and lab applications.
Troponin I is the preferred marker for
myocardial necrosis.
The international definition from ESC, ACC, AHA,
NACB and IFCC for a high sensitive Troponin I
method, states that increased troponin levels
should be defined as a measurement exceeding
the 99th percentile of the reference population
and that an acceptable imprecision for measure-
ments of the 99th percentile is <10% CV. The
Stratus CS Troponin I assay meets this criteria
with a 99th percentile of 0.07 ng/mL and a 10%
CV at 0.06% ng/mL. The test provides an accurate
tool for the diagnostics of myocardial infarction
(AMI) and risk stratification of patients with acute
coronary syndrome (ACS).
Due to a high negative predictive value, it can be
used to accurately exclude heart failure in cases
with suspicious symptoms (e.g. dyspnea
).
For patients presenting with symptoms of
dyspnea, D-Dimer is a highly valuable marker.
The marker has a high negative predictive value
for venous thromboembolism (VTE) and thus
provides the physician with a valuable diagnostic
tool in critical situations.
Acute care depends on timeliness, safety
and effectiveness. The Stratus CS Acute Care
diagnostic system’s robust and comprehen-
sive cardiac marker panel provides reliable
near-patient testing which gives you answers
to critical questions with a fast time to first
result of only 14 minutes.
The comprehensive menu covers the
necessary biomarkers for acute cardiac care
such as Troponin I, NT-proBNP, CK-MB mass,
Myoglobin, D-Dimer Cardiophase® CRP, and
in addition also
β
-hCG.

The Stratus CS Acute Care diagnostic system
perfectly fulfills laboratory practice needs as
it is designed in compliance with laboratory
accrediting agencies allowing the use of a daily
system check instead of daily testing of liquid
controls. The system uses whole blood and is
conveniently run with no sample preparation and
no user contact with blood or waste.
